Professor Dr Ida Fatimawati Adi Badiozaman is Head of Industrial Capability at Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS), where she leads the development of talent pipelines and human capital ecosystems that Sarawak’s energy transition and industrial growth depend on. Her appointment marks a deliberate move from academia into industry, bringing two decades of experience translating complex agendas, from hydrogen workforce development to ESG frameworks, into measurable outcomes across government, industry and community. Before joining PETROS, she served as Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak, where she authored the Research Masterplan 2030, aligned it with Sarawak’s PCDS 2030, and forged more than thirty cross-sector partnerships across ASEAN, Australia and the Middle East. Under her leadership, the campus ranked among the top 10% of Malaysian institutions for research performance. Across eighteen years advancing science, technology and innovation, she has become a recognised champion of women’s leadership in STEM. She sits on the Sarawak Women and Family Council and contributes to state policy recommendations as a member of the Sarawak Development Institute. Her interests span energy innovation ecosystems, inclusive talent development, and the governance of AI and digital transformation. Aligned with IDECS 2026’s vision of scaling innovation ecosystems for a borderless economy, Ida brings a critical, evidence-led perspective on the human infrastructure that innovation requires to reach beyond established borders.

Women are only 8.6% of CTOs globally in the World Economic Forum’s 2026 analysis, based on LinkedIn data across 41 economies. Women represent less than 20% of CIOs globally in the same dataset. Looking specifically at the Fortune 500, Russell Reynolds found women held 18% of top technology leadership roles in 2024, where the group included CIO, CTO and CDO roles.
