What is IDECS?

The International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) is an annual conference that brings together leaders from government, industry, academia and the technology ecosystem to exchange ideas, build partnerships and explore opportunities in the digital economy. 

Held in Sarawak, IDECS has grown into a platform for conversations on emerging technologies, innovation and the future of the digital economy. 

Yes. IDECS is held annually, with each edition focusing on current and emerging developments shaping the digital economy. 

IDECS26 is the ninth edition of the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak. 

This year’s conference will continue the IDECS journey by bringing together local and international voices to explore how innovation can be scaled across industries, communities and borders.

IDECS26 will be held on 5 and 6 October 2026 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Kuching, Sarawak. 

The theme for IDECS26 is “Scaling Innovation Ecosystem for a Borderless Economy: Earth, Orbit and Beyond.” 

It reflects the growing opportunities created by digital innovation, from developments on Earth to the emerging space economy. 

IDECS26 will explore areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, digital talent, future cities, the emerging space economy, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.

IDECS26 welcomes business leaders, government representatives, policymakers, technology professionals, investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, academics, students and anyone interested in the future of the digital economy. 

You can expect keynote sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions, networking opportunities and dedicated conference tracks featuring perspectives from government, industry, academia and the technology ecosystem. 

Absolutely. IDECS26 welcomes participants from Sarawak, across Malaysia and around the world. 

International participants are responsible for checking and meeting the relevant travel, visa and entry requirements for Malaysia. 

Meal and refreshment entitlements may differ depending on the pass selected. Details will be listed under the entitlements for each pass category. 

Business or smart casual attire is recommended. If a particular session or official function has a specific dress requirement, registered participants will be informed in advance.

Yes. Photography and videography will take place throughout the event for documentation, publicity and promotional purposes.
