Ts. Dr. Fethma Binti M. Nor is a Senior Lecturer at Curtin University, Malaysia. She holds a Doctor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in Production Process Design, from Dongguk University, South Korea. She is a registered Professional Technologist with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) and a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) and the Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM). Her research interests encompass Finite Element Analysis (FEA), natural fibre composites, biomaterials, and advanced product design and development. Her contributions to engineering design and innovation include achievements in Mechanical Capstone Design Project Competitions, with awards for Best Animation Video, Best Novelty Design, and Favourite Design by Visitors’ Vote. She has also served as a guest judge for the Mechanical Project Innovation and Exhibition (ProMIEX), contributing her expertise to the assessment of engineering projects. Alongside her academic responsibilities, Dr. Fethma delivers technical training for institutions and professionals across Malaysia and Brunei. Her workshops include Professional Mastery Design, Design SMART, and 3D modelling, reflecting her commitment to developing design skills and sharing engineering knowledge.
Dr. Fethma leads grant-funded research supported by the Sarawak Digital Economy and Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education. Her research and development activities have led to multiple patent filings related to dental implants, alongside Malaysian copyright registrations covering engineering models, systems, and sculptures. With over 50 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Fethma contributes to research dissemination and academic exchange. She takes a role in the international engineering community through chairing and organising conferences. Her work brings together research, design, technical training, and professional service, with interests spanning materials, manufacturing, and product development. Across these activities, she contributes to engineering education and innovation while supporting knowledge sharing among students, researchers, and practising professionals.
