Natashya Anak Evaristus

Head of Digital NextGen Unit
Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC)
Natashya Anak Evaristus is the Head, Digital NextGen Unit at Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), where she leads initiatives focused on digital economy development, STEM engagement, innovation and community access to technology across Sarawak. A graduate of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Bioprocess Technology and a Minor in Management, Natashya began her career in Penang with Penang Science Cluster, where she discovered her passion for STEM outreach and experiential learning. The experience shaped her career path and strengthened her belief in the importance of early exposure to technology and hands-on learning. At SDEC, she has spearheaded several initiatives that bring this approach to communities across Sarawak. Science on Wheels outreach programs brings mobile, hands-on STEM learning to schools and underserved communities, while developing a sustainable network of local STEM ambassadors. Makeramai Makerspace provides a community space for makers, students and creatives to explore technology, innovation and making through workshops, programmes and collaborative activities. GirlsCode Challenge encourages girls to explore coding and digital innovation through a female-focused app development competition, creating opportunities for young women to build confidence and pursue technology. In 2025, Natashya led the SHE-TECH Asia Forum, a parallel track of IDECS focused on advancing women’s participation and leadership in the digital economy. In 2024, she was selected to represent Malaysia in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP): Hidden No More – Empowering Women Leaders in STEM, organised by the U.S. Department of State. She is also one of 23 women profiled in the Sarawak Women in Digital Economy 2026 publication.
