Dr. Dayang Hanani Abang Ibrahim

Dr. Dayang Hanani Abang Ibrahim is presently a Chief Academic Officer at Aerospace, Digital and Green Energy Academy of Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS). Under the CENTEXS Aerospace, Digital and Green Energy Academy, she is responsible for providing strategic oversight of the Aerospace, Digital and Green Energy academic programmes, managing the Academy’s administration and operations, driving research and development initiatives, and establishing strategic partnerships and collaborations with industry. She was formerly a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
She graduated with a PhD in Computing Science from Newcastle University, United Kingdom. She was awarded her Master’s Degree in Information Management and Systems from Monash University, Australia and her BSc Degree in Computer Science (Hons) from University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. She also obtained her Post Graduate Program in Data Science and Business Analytics from Texas McCombs, The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Certified Master Trainer for Computational Thinking from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). She has also participated in the Digital Leadership Excellence Programme, jointly organised by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Huawei. In general, her interest focuses on Green Energy, Data Analytics, Computational Thinking, Cultural Heritage Innovation, Service Learning, Industrialisation, and Community Development. She has contributed to a range of publications, including academic journals, articles, magazines, coffee-table books, and other professional publications. With over 25 years of professional experience, she has served in various capacities as an academic leader and senior management member, lecturer, researcher, consultant, and development practitioner, contributing to education, research, industry engagement, and community development.
