CEO Vcom
Director Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Bhd
Veteran in the telecommunication infrastructure industry, I have experienced how telecommunication infrastructure needs have evolved in the past 2 decades. From its early days of building towers for cellular communication, the demand for connectivity has spurred unimaginable innovations in infrastructure, without which the current focus on AI, cannot be sustained.AI does not live in the Cloud, it lives in infrastructure, be they communication networks, towers, fibres, data centres, supply chains, skilled workers, electricity and water .Initially trained in both the legal and accounting profession, I was also involved in corporate activities, having participated in the listing of 2 companies on Bursa, and gained valuable experience in understanding fund raising, regulations and the intertwine of various disciplines in raising the enormous capital required for telecommunication infrastructure. Today I have accepted that as a CEO,I do not have to be the smartest technical person in the room, but I need to adapt, improvise and learn how to adopt AI in decision making.
