Professor Dr Shanti Faridah Salleh is Director of the Institute of Sustainable and Renewable Energy (ISuRE) and a Professor at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). A Chartered Energy Engineer and certified ESG Analyst, she brings together engineering, sustainability and digital innovation to turn research into decisions and measurable impact. Under her leadership, ISuRE has developed digital solutions for energy management, carbon accounting, environmental monitoring, waste management and sustainability reporting. This work has produced seven copyrighted outputs and four patents. She has also led UNIMAS’s ESG Excellence Reports and Low Carbon Campus Roadmap 2030, using data to guide institutional priorities and track progress. Beyond UNIMAS, Professor Shanti contributes to Sarawak’s low carbon industrial development, environmental data and hydrogen initiatives. She leads the talent pillar of the Transitioning Industrial Cluster in Bintulu, connecting universities, industry and government to build capabilities for the green transition. She also represents UNIMAS in its role as Vice Chair for SDG 15 within the United Nations Academic Impact network. At IDECS26, she intend to bring a clear conviction: collaborative research reaches its potential when knowledge becomes useful tools, stronger partnerships and lasting benefits for society.
