Dr. Hadi Bin Jumaat
Research Coordinator
Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch
Dr. Hadi Jumaat is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch, and a member of UiTM’s Antenna Research Centre (ARC). He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Electronics in 2012, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2015, and PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2025, all from UiTM. After completing his master’s degree through UiTM’s Young Lecturer Scholarship, he joined the university as a lecturer in 2015.
His expertise spans applied antenna, RF and microwave sensing systems. His research on compact multiband antennas using low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology has addressed short-range medical sensor applications. This work includes the design, fabrication and evaluation of multilayer aperture-coupled and microstrip antennas. He has also developed compact wideband antennas and microwave imaging systems for breast tumour detection, bringing together antenna design, RF switching, breast phantom development, measurement and image reconstruction.
His broader research interests include antenna arrays, RF front ends, electromagnetic wave propagation and microwave measurements. He is extending this expertise into satellite RF and ground-segment sensing, particularly ground stations, satellite IoT, tropical propagation and RF terminals. These interests connect his work in sensing and wireless communication with emerging needs for reliable connectivity and data collection in Sarawak. His approach emphasises the practical integration and evaluation of antennas with the wider systems in which they operate.
In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Hadi serves as Research Coordinator for the Research and Industry Networking Division at UiTM Sarawak Branch. In this role, he supports research initiatives and collaboration among academia, industry and government. He is also involved in engineering programme accreditation and academic development, contributing to efforts that strengthen engineering education and research engagement. His work reflects a continuing interest in translating RF and sensing research into applications across healthcare, communications and space technology.
