YB Datuk Amar Prof Dr. Sim Kui Hian is the Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak. A trained cardiologist, he graduated with an MBBS (Hons) from Monash University and has held senior clinical and leadership roles in cardiology and medical research in Malaysia and Australia. He has also held prominent positions in national and international cardiovascular organisations, including President of the National Heart Association of Malaysia and President of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology. His career spans medicine, research, public service and community leadership, with extensive involvement in scientific publications, clinical trials and professional medical forums.
