Sim Ko Sin joined Sarawak Energy as the Vice President for Information and Communication Technology effective 16 April 2018 and became the Chief Digital Officer for Information and Communication Technology in January 2021. Ko Sin is also Executive Champion for the Sarawak Energy Leading Women Network (SELWN) where she plays an active role in the network’s activities including as a pioneer in the Women Mentoring Women programme. In line with the increased importance of information and communications technology as an enabler for the business, Ko Sin is responsible for driving Sarawak Energy’s ICT functions. These include ICT Strategy and Planning, Applications, Telecommunications and IT Infrastructure, Information Management, Operations, as well as Information Security and Risk Management.

Women are only 8.6% of CTOs globally in the World Economic Forum’s 2026 analysis, based on LinkedIn data across 41 economies. Women represent less than 20% of CIOs globally in the same dataset. Looking specifically at the Fortune 500, Russell Reynolds found women held 18% of top technology leadership roles in 2024, where the group included CIO, CTO and CDO roles.
