Annisa Jamali (Senior Member, IEEE) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), and Deputy Director of Research, Development, Innovation, Commercialization and Economy. She received her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and her M.Eng. and B.Eng. degrees in Mechatronics Engineering from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Her research focuses on control, automation and robotics, particularly system modelling, model-based and adaptive control, and optimization-based controller tuning. Her work spans human-centred systems such as rehabilitation robotics, as well as frugal and appropriate automation for sustainable and community applications, with an emphasis on real-world validation and research translation.
