Prof. Bakri Madon

Born in Kuching, Sarawak, Bakri Madon is a computing engineer and academic whose career spans at the intersection of the semiconductor industry, cybersecurity, and higher education. His industry background includes work as an IC chip design engineer at HP Santa Clara Technology Center in Silicon Valley, leading semiconductor design initiatives at MIMOS, and directing technical consultancy in EDA tools and VLSI training through his own startup company. Within academia, he has taught extensively in computer architecture, microelectronics, and cybersecurity across several Malaysian institutions. He is actively dedicated to strengthening engineering and computing education, fostering industry-academia collaboration, and supporting the development of indigenous capabilities in IC design and silicon root-of-trust security. He completed his higher education in the UK, beginning with his A-levels and culminating with a PhD in microelectronics from University College London (UCL).
