Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus
Bong Jia Horng is a PhD candidate at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, who enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in Information and Communication Technology (DR-ICT) program. He specializes in computer vision and human pose estimation, applied to gait analysis and walking-intention recognition from RGB-D imagery. His current work builds a smart walker that infers where its user intends to move and adapts to that person’s gait, running entirely onboard without wearable sensors or cloud connectivity. Broader interests include edge AI, human-robot interaction, software development, and digital health for healthy ageing.
