Zhiyong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Academic Director of the MSc (Artificial Intelligence & Innovation) programme. He also serves as a Senior Principal Investigator at the NUS Chongqing Research Institute (NUSRI-CQ) and the NUS Guangzhou Research Translation and Innovation Institute (GRTII). He is a Senior Member of both ACM and IEEE. His research focuses on machine learning and data analytics. He has served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for AAAI 2026 and 2027, and as a reviewer for NeurIPS 2026, CVPR 2025 and 2026, ECCV 2026, ACL 2026, EMNLP 2025, and ACM Multimedia 2025 and 2026.
