Malcolm Mindang

Malcolm Mindang is a Bidayuh researcher from Sarawak, and a PhD candidate in Cultural Anthropology at the Institute of Borneo Studies, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). His work focuses broadly on Indigenous communities, culture, heritage, and social change in Borneo.
Professionally, he works as a Business Developer at The Culture Capital, where he is involved in cultural and community-based projects. He also undertakes consultation work on culture, traditions, and community engagement, particularly in relation to heritage, local knowledge, and public-facing initiatives. Malcolm currently serves as Vice President of Friends of Sarawak Museum, where he helps organise public talks and programmes that connect research, history, museums, and heritage with wider audiences.
Across his academic, professional, and community work, he is interested in how Indigenous knowledge and local perspectives can contribute to contemporary discussions on culture, heritage, identity, and development in Borneo.
