Postgraduate Student
i-CATS UC
Nur Izzati Akmal Binti Taip is a Biomedical Electronic Engineering graduate with an interest in artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, and intelligent monitoring systems. She holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Electronic Engineering (Honours) from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and has professional exposure to biomedical engineering through her industrial training in a hospital engineering department, where she was involved in biomedical equipment maintenance, documentation, and asset management. She is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering in i-CATS UC, with her research focusing on the development of an edge-computing, AI-based IoT system for smart agriculture and precision irrigation. Her research integrates environmental sensors, computer vision, machine learning, automated irrigation, and cloud-based monitoring to support intelligent plant health assessment and water management. Her current work explores the integration of Raspberry Pi-based edge computing with machine learning models and IoT platforms to develop an affordable and practical intelligent plant monitoring system. Her research interests include AIoT, precision agriculture, edge AI, environmental monitoring, machine learning, and automated control systems. Through her academic and engineering experience, she is interested in developing technology-driven solutions that combine engineering, artificial intelligence, and IoT to address practical real-world challenges.
