Ts. Dr. Lee Sue Han is a Senior Lecturer and Research Advisor at the School of Information and Communication Technologies, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus (SUTS), Malaysia. She previously served as Head of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies at SUTS. Her research lies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Computational Botany, focusing on AI-driven solutions for plant biodiversity conservation, plant disease identification, ecological monitoring, and Digital Twins of Nature. Her interdisciplinary work integrates AI with ecological and environmental sciences to develop intelligent technologies for biodiversity discovery, monitoring, and conservation.

Dr. Lee has secured competitive national and international research funding and collaborates with universities, government agencies, research organisations, and industry partners. She has published extensively in AI, computer vision, and biodiversity-related research, with her work spanning fundamental AI methodologies and real-world environmental applications. In recognition of her contributions to science and research, Dr. Lee was a recipient of the 2025 Nature Inspiring Women in Science Award – Scientific Achievement Award, recognising outstanding women scientists whose work demonstrates significant scientific achievement and impact. She is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia and is passionate about advancing responsible and impactful AI for biodiversity, sustainability, and society.
