Dr. Viknesh Andiappan is a Professor and Associate Director of the School of Research at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak (SUTS). A recognised specialist in industrial decarbonisation and energy systems optimisation, he leads the Sustainable and Clean Energy Research Cluster and has authored over 140 publications (with h-index of 23), including the book Optimization for Energy Systems and Supply Chains: Fundamental and Applications, published in 2022 by CRC Press. He is also one of the co-founders for the of Process and Systems Engineering for Sustainability (HoPES). His work integrates optimisation modelling and systems planning to support sustainable transitions in energy-intensive industries. At SUTS, he has secured a career total of over MYR 1.1 mill in external research funding, developed Malaysia’s national net-zero strategy for the palm oil sector, and led institutional partnerships with industry and academia.
